Hi it's me, it's Monica and this is number 39 in my Shopping Stories series.
And today we're going to talk about buying shoes when you're a girl with a
bigger foot. So I am a 13 and a half in US women's sizes. I'm a 10 and a half in
male sizes. And basically by being that 13 and a half in women's sizes, I have
missed the cut on cute and expensive little cute little shoes, right? So okay

za guywearingheels : My first show purchase ever was on vacation in Honolulu. The shop is no longer there, but I remember it fondly!

za guywearingheels : Thanks so much for sharing all of this! I so wish I could just pop into any local store and buy shoes, but alas, with these boats it is just never an option for me! I love that you are out there buying shoes in the world, though! Yay for you, girl!

Years ago I came across a shop in Toronto that sold stripper heels and party shoes. Lots of platforms - 5" platforms clear heels and so on and they didn't mind a guy coming in to try and buy. I bought my first pair of stripper heels there. I'm not sure if that shop is still there but let me try and look them up.

I love shoes and take a woman's size 11. I find I can get shoes fairly easily. There are local shops that have a variety of shoes, pumps, party heels, kitten heels, sandals, Malibu slides, sling backs, peep toe and so on. I shop for shoes at a local store where the clerks don't mind my coming in to try and buy shoes. If I'm looking for stripper heels or platforms then I'm buying these on line. Buying shoes is a really girlie thing. MIL, her girlfriends, and I make a date to go out and buy shoes.. The clerks at my local shop are very helpful and make suggestions. Clerks at the big department stores aren't really that helpful but tolerate my being there. But if I want, say, a quality pump for work then we're at the department store..where I'll spend $40-50 a pair but it's worth it. I have 25 pairs of shoes, MIL has at least 50 pairs, my ex-wife had over 100 pairs.
